Celebrating The Kingdom Of God
Holy Communion is a time of great spiritual celebration, for Christ says that His Kingdom Is Within Us here and now, and that we also "sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." Luke 17:21; Eph. 2:6.
Blessings (Benefits) Of Daily Communion
According to Scripture, the First-Century Christians participated in Holy Communion daily as we read in Acts 2:46: "And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church [Body-Of-Believers] daily such as should be saved." "And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers" (Acts 2:42).
We have recently adopted the practice of these early Christians in having Holy Communion in our home on a daily basis, and have already begun to experience a greater measure of God's peace, joy, rest, health, strength, and vitality of our entire being - spirit, soul, and body. We encourage others to do the same within their own homes. We also extend a personal invitation to our friends to visit us in our home and join us in this Blessed Communion with Our Lord And Saviour Jesus Christ.
There are many documented reports of physical healings as a result of individuals taking Holy Communion for themselves and also for upholding other people in their prayers and taking Communion for them when they were too sick to participate in the ordinance themselves. What a Blessed Privilege to draw upon the very Life Of God for our entire being! God forbid that this Precious Gift never be "taken for granted" or become a mere "ritual."
God Wants Us Well ... He Is The Great PhysicianIt is the Will Of God that each one of us enjoys good health as 3 John 1:2 says: "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." There are seven Hebrew and Greek words which are translated into 23 English words meaning some form of salvation, and one of these words is "health." So all healings of physical illness and disease are as much a part of salvation (total health) as any other part of the Gospel of Truth! Anything less can be attributed to spiritual, willful, mindful, emotional, and physical pernicious anemia!
In writing to the Corinthian believers, the Apostle Paul explained very clearly why there is so much weakness, sickness, and early deaths among Christians. Speaking of the Holy Communion, he says: "But let a man [woman] examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this cause many are weak, and sickly among you, and many sleep [die permaturely]" (1 Cor. 11:28-30). "Unworthily" is referring to the "manner" of how the "Body of Christ" (Unleaven Bread) is taken during Holy Communion rather than describing the "person" as unworthy; for everyone, no matter how good they may appear to be, is a sinner and unworthy in himself/herself. So the "unworthily" manner in which Christians partake of the "Bread" at Holy Communion is that they do not discern and believe the words of Christ when He said: "Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me" (1 Cor. 11:24). Put very simply, Christ's Body Was Broken - so our body can be made and kept whole! Hallelujah! Praise His Name!
There has been a misunderstanding that both the Bread and Wine at Holy Communion represents forgiveness of sin. But there is a great difference between these two New Testament ordinances; and when one realizes this difference, Holy Communion takes on a whole new meaning and the believer can not only receive the forgiveness of sins through the Shed Blood of Christ (Wine), but can also receive total healing through the Broken Body Of Christ (Unleaven Bread) for their spirit, will, mind, emotions, and body. These Graceful Gifts of our Loving Jesus were also foreshadowed in the Old Testament: "Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; who satisfieth thy mouth with good things: so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's" (Psalm 103:1-5).
Every Curse Reversed
It was by eating from the wrong tree that brought the curse of sin, sickness, and death upon humankind. By contrast, it was the One Who was nailed upon the very tree He as the Creator made, besides Being The Tree Of Righteousness Himself, and Who did it all to take away the sins of the world for all those who whole-heartedly believe in Him. As we drink of the Wine in Remembrance of His Shed Blood, we are forgiven of our sins and saved eternally to be with Him forever. And by eating the Broken Body Of Christ, we are made completely whole! Thus Jesus Christ has once and for all reversed the curse that fell upon mankind in the Garden of Eden! All Praise To His Name For Such A Salvation!! Thus, when believers take the Holy Communion and by faith assimilate the very Blood and Broken Body Of Christ, they have the privilege of experiencing the opposite of 1 Cor. 11:30 which they could apply to themselves as: "For this cause many are strong, healthy, and live a long life!" In addition to believing and receiving the Shed Blood and Broken Body of our Lord Jesus Christ, it is also important to seek God's Wisdom in knowing how to be "good stewards" in the care of our body which is worth far more than any other earthly possession. We are assured in James 1:5: "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." After all is said and done, our body is this world's temporary temple or tabernacle (housing or tent as the Apostle Paul says in 2 Cor. 5:11). Also, consider Jesus' answer to the woman at the well when she asked where was the right place to worship He replied: "Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth" (John 4:22-24).
The Living Bread
Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, how can this man give us his flesh to eat? Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day [at his/her last breath]. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever....It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." John 6:47-58, 63.
"How can Jesus give us his flesh as bread to eat? To eat living bread means to unite ourselves to Christ. We are united with Christ in two ways: (1) by believing in his death (the sacrifice of his flesh) and resurrection and (2) by devoting ourselves to living as he requires, depending on his teaching for guidance and trusting in the Holy Spirit for power....The idea of drinking any blood, let alone human blood, was repugnant to the religious leaders because the Law forbade it (Leviticus 17:10, 11). Jesus was not talking about literal blood, of course. He was saying that his life had to become their own, but they could not accept this concept. The apostle Paul later used the body and blood imagery in talking about communion (see 1 Cor. 11:23-26). The Holy Spirit gives spiritual life ("quickeneth"); without the work of the Holy Spirit we cannot even see our need for it (John 14:17). All spiritual renewal begins and ends with God. He reveals truth to us, lives within us, then he enables us to respond to that truth." - Life Application Bible, pp. 1814-1815.
The Life-Giving Wine
Grapes have to be crushed to be able to produce wine! Thus Christ suffered and died (was crushed) so that we might partake of His Blood (Life) within our very being.
"Still, it's what God had in mind all along, to crush him [Christ] with pain. The plan was that he give himself as an offering for sin so that he'd see life come from it - life, life, and more life. And God's plan will deeply prosper through him. Out of that terrible travail of soul, he'll see that it's worth it and be glad he did it. Through what he experienced, my righteous one [Christ], my servant, will make many 'righteous ones,' as he himself carries the burden of their sins." Isaiah 53:10, 11 - THE MESSAGE - The Bible In Contemporary Language.
Our Prayer
We exalt You Almighty Father God, Sovereign of all Creation, for the Redemption You have given us through the Broken Body and Shed Blood Of Jesus Christ who has reversed every curse which has ever been put upon us from the Garden of Eden, family heritage, religious illusions/delusions, hatred of wicked men and women, and all demonic powers. We praise and thank You for Your complete salvation which means - avenged, avenging, deliver, deliverance, delivered, deliverers, defend, health, help, preserved, preservest, rescue, save, saved, savest, saveth, saving, safety, safe, Saviour, Saviours, victory, and welfare [whole-well-being]. We rejoice for this Covenant Relationship with The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. Amen.
Thoughts To Ponder
Are you an offense (hindrance or stumbling block) to yourself when it comes to the Holy Communion; thereby remaining unpeacefully-broken or sick with sin?? Take courage, you don't have to remain or be so any longer!!
